Dr. Khan completed his integrated plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, where he received comprehensive training across both cosmetic and complex reconstructive procedures. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba, building a strong foundation in clinical medicine and surgical care.
Dr. Khan has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and has been actively involved in advancing research within plastic surgery. His academic work spans reconstructive techniques, wound care, surgical outcomes, and emerging technologies.
He has a particular focus on the role of artificial intelligence in surgical education and patient care. His published research, including “Unveiling the Potential of AI in Plastic Surgery Education” (PRS Global Open, 2024), was among the first to directly compare multiple AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Google Bard, and others, within a plastic surgery training context.
